Reflecting back on my VoiceThread lesson I was very pleased. To be honest this worked a lot better than I expected amy students and my participating teacher really enjoyed it. I took this lesson into two parts. I was able to integrate a social studies, Language, and technology lesson all into one. It was brilliant. What I loved most about this lesson was not only did the students get to work together and brainstorm ideas, but they were also able to share what they came up with and show everyone with the VoiceThread. They were all really proud of their work. What worked best for me was setting guidelines and rules before and after creating the VoiceThread with the students. This made the recording go more smoothly and it was less chaotic. It also limited the mistakes the students made. I feel that my Voicethread was really awesome and my lesson was done on a subject touching. This made the Voicethread even better. The students were learning about Slaves in 5th grade Social Studies. They had to do a TAKS packet that had a snippet from the Fugitive Story and then answer questions. I knew I had to make this TAKS packet more fun so I did. After reading the fugitive the students were able to dissect a song called Follow the Drinking Gourd. This had a hidden message for slaves. The students then created their own personal accounts as if they were the run away slaves. THe students really enjoyed the lesson and so did I and my participating teacher. If I did have to change anything it would be to give myself more time for this lesson. Even though it was done in two days, I think it could have been done more comfortably in three days. Also, when it came time for the students to talk about their illustrations it did not go very well. They lost their words and could not think on their feet. That was my fault. I should have had the students write what they wanted to say first and then read it for the VoiceThread. When the class saw the final product of the VoiceThread they were so proud of themselves. It was great to see their faces. They thought it was really neat, as did I. My teacher thought so as well. She wanted me to save the VoiceTHread on her computer to use at a later time. She also had me show her how to do a VoiceThread because she wanted to use one next time she had a lesson she could use with it.

HOTS questions for Peers:
1. What can I do to make the VoiceThread better? The students are stumbling over words and are very nervous.
2. I told the student exactly what we were doing. Do you think it would be better to have not told them? Maybe they would have been less nervous.
3. What could I do to make this lesson better?
